झिलमिल माता-पिता के लिए हिंदी कहानियों का ऐप है: माता-पिता इसे खोलते हैं और 3–6 साल के बच्चे को कहानी पढ़कर सुनाते हैं।
हम कोई निजी जानकारी इकट्ठा नहीं करते
झिलमिल में कोई खाता, लॉगिन, एनालिटिक्स या ट्रैकिंग नहीं है। हम नाम, उम्र, ईमेल, फ़ोन नंबर, जगह या कोई और निजी जानकारी नहीं माँगते और न ही इकट्ठा करते हैं।
विज्ञापन (Android ऐप)
Android ऐप मुफ़्त रहे, इसलिए उसमें कहानियों की सूची वाले पन्नों के नीचे एक छोटा विज्ञापन दिखता है। कहानी पढ़ते या चित्र देखते समय कोई विज्ञापन नहीं दिखता। वेबसाइट पर कोई विज्ञापन नहीं है। विज्ञापन Google AdMob दिखाता है, और हमने उसे ऐसे सेट किया है: विज्ञापन आपकी रुचि के हिसाब से नहीं चुने जाते (non-personalised), सभी अनुरोध बच्चों के लिए सुरक्षित (child-directed) चिह्नित हैं, सिर्फ़ सबके देखने लायक (General) विज्ञापन दिखते हैं, और ऐप फ़ोन की विज्ञापन ID (Advertising ID) नहीं पढ़ता। विज्ञापन दिखाने के लिए Google कुछ तकनीकी जानकारी ले सकता है, जैसे IP पता (जिससे मोटा-मोटा इलाक़ा पता चलता है), फ़ोन का मॉडल, इस ऐप के लिए एक ID (App set ID, विज्ञापन ID नहीं), ऐप कैसे चल रहा है, और विज्ञापन देखा या दबाया गया। यह जानकारी विज्ञापन दिखाने, गिनती रखने और धोखाधड़ी रोकने के लिए है। Google इसका उपयोग कैसे करता है: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
फ़ोन पर क्या रहता है
आपकी पसंदीदा कहानियाँ, हाल में खोली कहानियाँ, सेटिंग (लिपि, रंग, अक्षरों का आकार) और सोने के समय की याद — ये सब सिर्फ़ इसी फ़ोन पर रहते हैं। ये हमें कभी नहीं भेजे जाते। ऐप हटाने पर ये भी हट जाते हैं।
इंटरनेट
ऐप नई कहानियाँ और चित्र लाने के लिए इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल कर सकता है। इन अनुरोधों में आपके बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं जाती। हमारी वेबसाइट चलाने वाली सेवा (Cloudflare) सुरक्षा के लिए सामान्य तकनीकी लॉग (जैसे IP पता) कुछ समय रख सकती है; हम इनसे किसी की पहचान नहीं करते।
सूचनाएँ
अगर आप सेटिंग में "सोने के समय याद दिलाओ" चालू करते हैं, तो फ़ोन खुद ही सूचना दिखाता है। इसके लिए कोई जानकारी बाहर नहीं जाती।

Jhilmil is a Hindi story app for parents: the parent opens it and reads the stories aloud to their child aged 3–6.
We collect no personal data
Jhilmil has no accounts, logins, analytics or tracking. We do not ask for or collect names, ages, email addresses, phone numbers, location or any other personal information, from children or adults.
Ads (Android app)
To keep the Android app free, it shows one small banner ad at the bottom of the story-list screens. No ad is shown while a story is being read or in picture mode. The website has no ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob, set up so that: ads are not personalised, every ad request is marked child-directed, only ads rated General are shown, and the app does not read the device's Advertising ID. To show ads, Google may receive technical information such as the IP address (which gives a rough location), device model, an ID for this app only (the App set ID, not the Advertising ID), how the app is performing, and whether an ad was seen or tapped. It is used to show ads, count them, and prevent fraud. How Google uses it: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
What stays on the device
Favourites, recently opened stories, settings (script, theme, text size) and the optional bedtime reminder are stored only on the device. They are never sent to us, and they are deleted when the app is removed.
Internet use
The app may use the internet to download new stories and pictures. These requests carry no information about you. The service that hosts our website (Cloudflare) may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time for security; we do not use them to identify anyone.
Notifications
If you turn on the bedtime reminder in Settings, the phone shows the reminder by itself. No data leaves the device for this.
